Karish Family : Image Restoration |
This photo was part of a group of photos restored for a private client. On the left - time, moisture, mold and UV had taken a toll on this photo. On the right - it's looking better. As the colours were being corrected, a blemish under the subject's lower lip appeared. We could have removed it with ease, but we know from years of doing this - all organic matter has visual anomalies. If the skin texture of a portrait is "too" perfect, it starts to look fake. Knowing when to stop retouching is vitally important. We try to preserve enough imperfections and film grain to make the photo look natural, while removing the junk that makes it look environmentally degraded. Photo courtesy of the Karish Family |
